Income data are derived from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates (Table B20017: Median Earnings in the Past 12 Months for Full-Time, Year-Round Workers), adjusted from 2024 to 2026 to reflect recent wage growth and annualized to monthly gross earnings.

Rental indicators reflect the latest median 1-bedroom private market rents sourced from the Apartment List Rent Estimates dataset.

Food cost estimates utilize Numbeo’s Meal at an Inexpensive Restaurant price benchmark as a standardized essential meal-cost proxy, reflecting typical single-person baseline monthly food expenditure.

Contextual Tax Note: Figures represent pre-tax gross income. State-level personal income tax variations (ranging from 0% in states like Washington, Texas, and Florida to over 13% in California) and local municipal sales taxes are not deducted, which meaningfully influence net disposable income margins.
